How Anti-Vibration Pads Reduce Generator Vibration
Generators produce vibration during operation, which can travel through their supports into the floor and surrounding structure. This may cause unwanted noise and disturbance in nearby areas. Generator anti-vibration pads provide a resilient layer between the generator supports and the mounting surface. By cushioning this connection, they help reduce the vibration transmitted to the structure. Effective isolation depends on selecting pads suited to the generator’s weight, load distribution and operating speed. Correct installation and even loading also matter—thicker pads do not always provide better results. If excessive vibration continues, inspect the generator, its mounting arrangement and connected pipes. Pads can help control vibration transmission, but they cannot correct an underlying mechanical fault.
